Our Mission
The Whisky Chronicle is an independent Australian editorial portal dedicated to the history, tradition and culture of whisky. Our aim is to publish careful, well-sourced writing that treats whisky as a subject worthy of serious study — as a matter of craft, of history and of place.
We have no commercial affiliations with any distillery, retailer or importer. We do not carry advertising, and we do not publish sponsored content. Our editorial choices are made independently.
Age and Purpose
This website is intended for adults aged 18 years or older. Its content is provided for educational and historical purposes. We do not encourage the consumption of alcohol, and we ask that any reader who chooses to drink does so responsibly and in accordance with the laws of their jurisdiction.
Our Editorial Team
The Whisky Chronicle is written and edited by a small team of Australian writers, historians and researchers with a shared interest in whisky as a cultural subject. We work with contributors who have specialist knowledge of the regions and traditions we cover.
Content Methodology
Our articles draw on published histories, distillery archives, academic writing and primary documentary sources. Where facts are contested or dates are uncertain, we say so. Where we quote historical figures, we identify the source.
We welcome corrections. If you notice an error, please contact us through the details on our contact page.
